Nous allons a Paris

Paul & I went to Paris today to pick up train tickets to go to Annecy next weekend. We walked past Notre Dame. Spectacular.
We walked along the Seine. When we were here in 2001, they were in the midst of their 500 year flood. Look closely at the photo, there are parcs on boths sides of the river, during the flood the river was so flooded that the parcs were under water and boats were not able to fit under the bridges. Many people make their living on the river-- tourism, fishing.....
It's time pour le dejeuner (lunch)....where do you eat when there are so many cafes? Well, most every cafe has a Le Menu outside so you can see what they serve and the prices. If you like what you read...you go in. Or if you're real hungry, just to in and see what happens....that's called adventure dining.
Paul ordered Croque Madame....bread, ham, cheese topped off with a fried egg, and lovely salade.
(Got bread?)
I ordered an omelette with ham and cheese. (jambon et fromage). You also get a basket of that fabulous french bread. mmmmmmm!
Time to visit the loo....no, not the Louvre, the, loo....le salle de bain. Every cafe seems to have is own quirky sdb. Look at the ceiling, it looks like this little room was carved out of the rock. The walls are a mosaic of small stones.
There is typically a common sink area. You can see the stones on the wall better in this pic.
This is faucet....cool n'est pas? Steph, when I saw this I thought of you.....where is my Sculpey? This would make an awesome cast! Desole (I haven't figured out how to do the accents yet)
Tres charmant! Time to head back to Les Cedres.Taking the RER back to Massey, there is graffiti for miles and miles. Some of it is very colorful. Had I been a little quicker on the draw with the camera...you'd see more. Next trip!
We had 8 minutes before the bus would arrive. Hmmmm, there's a patisserie just across the street. Could we pick something out in only 8 minutes....worth a try? You betcha!Look how she wrapped them? Way better than a napkin folded into a duck at the chinese restaurant. It was hard to leave there with only 2 things. We did a video of unwrapping the pyramid. As soon as we figure out how to, we'll post it. The pyramid was wrapped around a raspberry and cream tart, and the other was a chocolate filled croissant. Tres riche!

OMG, YES....where is your sculpey?!?! :)

I love that you are sharing your trip with us! It is so wonderful to be le long de pour le tour (according to my translator, though I'm guessing it's not a perfect translation). :)
